What counts as a validation?

Every transaction you submit to ProofGate for validation counts as one validation, whether it passes or fails. All tiers get instant API validation — the difference is whether the proof gets recorded on-chain.

What's the difference between API validation and on-chain proof?

API validation (all tiers): Instant validation result stored in our database. Your agent gets SAFE/BLOCKED response in <100ms.

On-chain proof (requires credits): We record your validation on Base Mainnet in a nightly batch. This creates an immutable, cryptographically verifiable audit trail for compliance.

How do on-chain credits work?

Buy credit packs from the dashboard. When you want a validation recorded on-chain, add recordOnChain: true to your API request. One credit = one on-chain proof. Credits never expire. Enterprise tier gets unlimited on-chain proofs included.

Do I need on-chain proofs?

Most AI agents just need instant API validation. On-chain proofs are valuable for: institutional compliance, audit trails, regulatory requirements, or proving your agent's safety history to third parties.

What happens if I exceed my tier limit?

After reaching your monthly limit, new validations will be blocked until you upgrade or the next billing cycle starts. Your existing guardrails and proofs remain accessible.
